Marion and I were so sorry to hear that Kees Huibregtse passed recently.
My GI/medical readers will be well aware of Kees’ illustrious career in Amsterdam. He was one of the pioneers in the early days of flexible endoscopy and a consumate generous teacher. Endoscopists, especially “ERCPists”, flocked to learn from him from all over world. They left much better equipped to help their patients at home, but also knowing that they had gained a long-time friend. He was a very popular speaker and demonstrator at National and International conferences, and we all enjoyed many happy social events with him and Anne Marie.
Kees can be particularly proud that his daughter, Inge, has stepped into his shoes as an advanced endoscopist in Amsterdam.
